Guiding Principles for MyLife 24-7 Ambassadors

Preamble: As a MyLife 24-7 Ambassador you're the life force behind the GOOD FOR YOU movement. Success depends on your willingness to share your vision and motivate your peers to take advantage of the resources offered on MyLife 24-7.org. What you do and say can have a significant impact on the reputation of the entire project. Please be sure to read and honor these guiding principles.

Principle 1: Participate fully and enthusiastically.

• Remember that your leadership role is an honor and a privilege. Help build MyLife 24-7 into a powerful, positive social movement.
• Stay engaged. Visit the site often. Participate in our surveys, contests, and other activities. Use your leadership skills to get others to do so as well.
• Be responsive and proactive. Promptly reply to requests, follow through on commitments, and exercise initiative to suggest new and better ways to advance the goals of MyLife 24-7.
• Interact with your fellow Ambassadors. Create connections with one another online and within your schools and communities.

Principle 2. Don't just rep the GOOD FOR YOU movement, live it.

• Anyone can talk the talk, but MyLife 24-7 leaders walk the walk; they have integrity. People will respect and look up to you when you say what you mean, and do what you say. As Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see."
• Make good decisions. Choose your words and actions based on the core ethical values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship. Remember, character counts!

Principle 3. Build and protect MyLife 24-7's reputation.

• Be image-conscious. MyLife 24-7 is nonpartisan and nonsectarian. The success of the movement depends on its universal appeal. Ambassadors are the face of MyLife 24-7 so remember, when you’re working on an awareness campaign or even just sporting the logo tee, you’re representing the movement and your fellow Ambassadors.
• As a MyLife 24-7 leader, you must be considerate and tolerant of opinions that differ from your own. Good people of conscience and character often disagree on major philosophical issues of morality and politics.
• MyLife24-7 should not be used as a platform for expressing personal viewpoints on politics, religion, or highly controversial issues. You can participate in other causes and express your opinions, support candidates and campaign for and against issues. BUT you must always do so respectfully. AND you must be clear that your views are not representing MyLife 24-7.
