Requirements

1. Age. Contestants must be between 13-19 years old..
2. Samples. Write and submit two (2) posts.
3. Length. Each sample post must be 247 words or less.
4. Registration. Contestants must create a personal account to participate.

Submission

1. Early Submission are currently closed.
2. Deadline. Submission deadline was Monday, Feb. 1 , 2010 at 11:59 PM.
3. Finalists. Finalists will be announced on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010.

    

Writing guidelines

1. Relevance. Entries should reflect the core philosophy of the project—the importance of living a life that’s good for you all day, every day. It’s about making good choices and embracing positive values in order to lead a healthy, fulfilling life.
• Write what you know: personal life, school, community, the world, whatever.
• Skip the partisan politics.
• Have an opinion. Back it up with facts.
• Criticism is fine, but MyLife 24-7is more about solutions than problems.
• Don’t hate, create! Posts with inappropriate language will be disqualified.
2. Good Writing Matters. Grammar, diction and spelling do count!
3. Originality. Your posts should be your thoughts in your words. Make sure to reference your sources by name and link to materials cited.
4. Follow Instructions. Essentially, you’re giving us a preview of what you’d be like as a MyLife 24-7 columnist. The ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines is crucial.
